Why are Atlassian taking this action?
Price increases can be challenging for our customers. Atlassian always put price changes through a rigorous analysis, which includes: extensive competitive research, surveys, external market analysis, and internal review. Price increases do not happen unless the leadership at Atlassian are aligned on the reasoning and the justification and strive to be as transparent and communicative as possible with their customers. This price change reflects their continued investment in building powerful cloud products.
Cloud price increase
Context for list price increase
This price update is reflective of continued investment in building powerful cloud products that unify teams on the Atlassian Cloud Platform, facilitating greater alignment and more efficient collaboration.
These updates reflect ongoing commitment to unify your teams on the Atlassian Cloud Platform, facilitating greater alignment and more efficient collaboration. In the past 12 months, they have continued investing in enterprise-grade security and released new product features such as Confluence guests, progressive delivery and security in Jira Software, and advanced incident and change management in Jira Service Management.
More context on advantaged pricing
Customers on advantage price plans have enjoyed the full set of features and investments while paying below list price for one or more cloud products, which are already competitively priced.
Historically, both advantaged and list price changes for cloud have occurred in October and will likely continue to occur around this time frame in the future.
Context on automation packaging changes
Today, Automation pricing and packaging is fragmented across the Jira product line. Atlassian are changing how Jira automation limits will be measured in line with how the market prices Automation, and to align with Confluence automation rules, effective 1 Nov 2023 PT. More information around this will be released in due course.
